Description from the seller
A fine antique Italian 4/4 master violin, bearing the label “LORENZO VENTAPANE FABBRICANTE DI STRUMENTI DA CORDE Abita Calata Borgo di Loreto N°. 23.”
The instrument is in playing condition and ready for use, with only minor cracks near the endpin that have been professionally repaired.
The top is made from high-quality spruce with fine to medium grain, while the two-piece back is crafted from gently flamed maple. The ribs and scroll are well matched.
It features a rich golden varnish with visible wear and aging, highlighting the excellent selection of tonewood.
The violin measures 590 mm in total length, with a back length of 358 mm. The widths are 160 mm across the upper bouts, 111 mm at the middle bouts, and 201 mm at the lower bouts. Full size (4/4).
The tone is warm, sweet, and powerful, making it particularly well suited for solo performance.
Worldwide insured shipping via DHL is available.
Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind
