Description from the seller
Large sculptural mouth-blown glass vase from the iconic Pebble / Rock series, designed by Kate Hume and released by When Objects Work, a leading international design platform.
Kate Hume works worldwide as an interior designer for ‘the rich & famous’. (www.katehume.com)
This concerns the Pebble model (Large), finished in a deep aubergine color with rich, gemstone-like nuances.
Size: approx. 29 × 29 cm × 20 cm
The vase is characterized by an organic, lightly asymmetrical form. This tension in the shape is typical of Kate Hume’s work and underlines the sculptural character of the object. The piece is intended as autonomous art and functions excellently as a statement piece in an interior.
This sculptural vase is mouth-blown and executed in deep-tinted glass, which creates a warm, layered glow and clear visual depth.
The vase is mouth-blown and hand-formed. Subtle variations in form, glass thickness and surface are inherent to the artisanal process and characteristic of Kate Hume’s work and the production of When Objects Work.
The high gloss and saturated color create a strong light interaction, both as a solitary object and in combination with other vases from the series.
