Very beautiful, large, and decorative horse. The animal is made of leather and has glass eyes. It weighs 2000 g, is 47 cm high, 57 cm wide and 15 cm deep. The leather animal probably dates from the mid-20th century. In that period, these kinds of figures were produced a lot, for example in Italy and England, following the iconic designs sold by Liberty of London at the beginning of the 20th century.
The beast is very realistically made. Especially the head with the glass eyes looks very true-to-life, and the overall design of the figure is very realistic.
The figure has a leather covering and the leather is nicely glossy. The leather is still well stretched everywhere, and there are few signs of wear visible. The color is somewhat brown-leather; probably due to polishing with various kinds of brown leather fat over the years, but this does not make the piece any less beautiful (see photos).
This leather horse is an ornament in any interior, not only for the horse enthusiast, and certainly also a conversation piece!
