Naj-Oleari is a historic Italian brand born in 1916 as a textile company. Initially it produced clothing fabrics for umbrellas, but in the 1970s and especially the 1980s it became incredibly famous thanks to its colorful patterns and coordinated accessories: bags, wallets, umbrellas, cases, notebooks, and clothing items.
For many teenagers of the 1980s, owning a Naj-Oleari bag or accessory was a real status symbol. Its floral and geometric prints, cheerful and recognizable, became iconic of Italian fashion of that period.
The brand was founded by Riccardo Naj-Oleari in Magenta (Milan) and true commercial success arrived with the third generation of the family, who introduced printed fabrics and original patterns also designed by Maurizia Dova, daughter of painter Gianni Dova.
Today Naj-Oleari still exists and is present in various sectors, from fashion to home to cosmetics, maintaining a link with Italian design and its distinctive decorative patterns.
