AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Up for auction is a nice antique 4/4 italian violin for professional musician or collector. The label says: Pietro Antonio figlio di Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi in Milano al Segno della Serena l' Anno 1769. This is a superb sounding instrument, also very beautiful in appearance. The softly narrow flamed two pieces maple back measures 357 mm. The total length of the violin is 588 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 208 mm. Straight high to medium grained spruce top, golden brown reddish varnish over lighter ground. This violin is in a good used condition, with some tears and wears, small repaired crack to the end-pin, old ebony set up, new tonica strings and new bridge. Beautiful model with a very elegant natural amber patina, very high quality of woods, perfect details all over. The sound is very powerful, deep, mellow and rich. Shipping worldwide insured!

Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind.
