Leonetto Cappiello - Asti Cinzano - 1970s

Extraordinary advertising poster “Asti Cinzano” designed by Leonetto Cappiello, father of modern poster art.

Note: This is a later edition, probably from the 1970s.

The work depicts an ethereal and dynamic female figure, suspended between movement and lightness, as she toasts with a bottle of sparkling wine, enveloped by golden swirls and resting on clusters of red and white grapes. A composition of great visual strength, symbol of celebration, elegance and vitality.

Typical of Cappiello’s style is the strong contrast between dark background and luminous subject, which immediately captures attention and makes the advertising message direct and extremely effective. The warm orange color of the lettering “CINZANO” adds further dramatic impact.
