Set of two antique Japanese porcelain collar vases from the Meiji period, circa 1900, hand-painted in deep blue on a white–grey ground, with an unglazed foot ring and a height of about 24 cm, in excellent antique condition.

Set of 2 Antique Japanese Collar Vases – Meiji Period (ca. 1900)
Beautiful set of two antique Japanese porcelain collar vases, manufactured around 1900 during the late Meiji period for the European export market. These vases are a classic example of craftsmanship from the Arita/Imari region.
The vases stand out for their elegant slim neck and the characteristic, broadly flaring scalloped collar. They are fully hand-painted in a deep blue shade on a white-gray background.
Special details:
Decoration: Rich floral motifs on the body and refined bamboo details on the inside of the collar.
Craftsmanship: Hand-painted, as evident in the lively variation of brushstrokes.
Features: Unglazed foot ring with slight kiln irregularities, in keeping with the authentic production method around the turn of the century.
