Hand-painted white porcelain inkwell with genuine gold edging, height 8 cm and base dimensions 23 × 14.5 cm, produced by LA GALLERIA (Ex Richard Ginori) in Italy during the 1950s–1960s, new and never used, includes a torchon pen with nib.
Description from the seller
Former Richard Ginori workers, during a period of layoffs, opened around 1950 LA GALLERIA - Manifattura Porcellane - AI (Artigiani Italiani) - as written in the mark below the crown. The manufactory was founded in Sesto Fiorentino by former employees of Richard Ginori around 1952 following several layoffs in the preceding years (circa 1950). It was active until around 2005. This Manufactura, often confused with Capodimonte rather than Tuscany and with former Ginori workers, produced porcelain of good quality and decorations as valid as those of the famous Ginori where they had worked. I present at auction a beautiful white porcelain inkwell, hand-painted by a painter employed by the company, with edges in 24-carat gold. The measurements are: Height 8 cm - Base and Depth 23 x 14.5 cm. The item is new, never used and without any defects such as hairlines or chips. Naturally it will be carefully and properly packed so that it reaches the winning bidder intact via a courier service, not by post. I also include a torchon pen, with its nib, to complete the inkwell.
