The brothers Friedrich and Heinrich Kapp opened in 1865 in Dublin their tobacco shop “Kapp Brothers” and specialized in high-quality meerschaum and briar pipes. They did not foresee that they would soon be part of the making of a legend. A short time later, Charles Peterson approached them with a revolutionary pipe idea and proposed a partnership. The brothers agreed, and the business was renamed Kapp & Peterson. It quickly rose to Dublin’s most renowned manufacturer and supplier of fine smoking goods.
