Trinitite meteorite, main mineral Trinitite, origin Alamogordo, United States; weight 3.9 g, dimensions 2.5 × 2.0 × 0.6 cm, with certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Hello,
I sell Trinitite, a glass formed during the first nuclear explosion called Trinity, at Alamogordo, New Mexico, on July 16, 1945.
Trinitite results from the vitrification of desert sand bound to the various elements of the device's structure and the bomb itself. Recently, researchers have discovered that a piece of red Trinitite has taken the form of a quasicrystal.
First discovered in laboratories in the 1980s, quasicrystals also occur in nature, notably in meteorites.
Note that Trinitite is not hazardous to health.
You can buy with confidence.
My name is Jean Redelsperger, I have been selling meteorites for 15 years to museums, scientists and collectors around the world.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
