Description from the seller
Enzo Cucchi (1949) – Original manifesto of the exhibition "An Opaque Image", Museum Folkwang, Essen, 1982-1983, with the artist's autograph dedication
Original manifesto of the exhibition dedicated to Enzo Cucchi at the Museum Folkwang in Essen (Germany), held from December 17, 1982 to January 23, 1983.
The work features an original autograph dedication by Enzo Cucchi placed directly on the front of the manifesto. The dedication was personally addressed to my father, a well-known art printer specializing in etching techniques, who played a significant role in introducing the artist to engraving procedures and to copperplate printing.
This direct provenance gives the manifesto a particular historical-documentary interest, attesting to a personal and professional relationship between the artist and one of the protagonists of the Italian art printmaking scene of the era.
The item therefore constitutes not only an original exhibition poster, but also an autographed testimony linked to the early stage of Enzo Cucchi’s engraving career, a leading figure of Italian Transavanguardia.
