Description from the seller
Whyte & Mackay is a historic Scottish whisky company based in Glasgow. Although it often cites 1844 as its founding date, the company was established by James Whyte and Charles Mackay in 1882. This discrepancy arises because its origins trace back to an earlier company called Allan & Poynter, created in 1844 and run by James Whyte before he partnered with Mackay.
Brand Origins
James Whyte and Charles Mackay began as whisky merchants and bonded warehouse operators in Glasgow. After founding their own company, they launched their first blend, Whyte & Mackay Special, which was a great success in the UK and in export markets such as the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
The Whyte & Mackay brand is known for its triple maturation process, in which whiskies are blended and aged again to achieve a smoother, more balanced profile. These bottles of Whyte & Mackay Special Scotch whisky are excellent collector's items and feature various vintages, primarily from the late 1980s.
Always stored in a private, temperature-controlled cellar.
IMPORTANT!
We do not ship to the following countries: Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Russia, Malta, the Canary Islands, and Madeira.
