Description from the seller
Summer Passages from the Derivas series
Unique work
In Derivas, Ella Suárez develops research around the landscape understood as an expanded field, where forms are not fixed, but move, transform, and continually reconfigure themselves.
The works sit in an intermediate territory between the recognizable and the abstract. Through undulating structures and transitional planes, they evoke reliefs, horizons, and geographical features that do not belong to a specific place, but to an experience of landscape in constant change.
The concept of an extended landscape runs through the series as a way of thinking about the environment beyond its physical boundaries. Space dilates, the horizon decomposes, and depth is built through layers that fold, open, and overlap. In this context, relief stops being stable and becomes a living matter, subject to processes of mutation.
Color acts as structure and energy. The palettes are organized into transitions that generate tension and continuity, articulating a visual rhythm that suggests movement, atmosphere, and time. Each plane responds to an internal logic that balances density and fluidity, constructing a landscape that never presents itself as definitive.
In Derivas, landscape stops being an image to become process: a way of perception in which matter, color, and time are in a state of permanent transformation.
Authenticity of the work:
Each work is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, ensuring its authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the painted surface. The signature includes the title of the work, the year of creation, and Ella Suárez's signature. The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), validating its origin and authorship.
Clarifying note:
Reference images may show slight tonal variations from the original work due to lighting in spaces, which can affect contrast or color temperature, as well as differences between display devices. The photographs have been produced with the greatest possible care.
Shipping details:
The work will be shipped rolled in a protective tube, a method that guarantees its safety during transport and offers a more economical and sustainable option. The canvas includes an additional margin of 5 cm on each side to facilitate re-stretching, which may be performed by the buyer or by a professional.
