Jewellery box - NACAR, Metal - Snuff box

Handcrafted mother-of-pearl box made from two pieces of marine snail shells with a silver-colored metal hinge and clasp. I don’t know the type of metal. Its function was most likely a snuff box or tobacco pouch, although it was also used as a small jewelry box or pillbox.
These objects were very popular from the late 19th century to the early 20th century (late Victorian era).
It is in fabulous condition: the nacre is bright, without cracks, and the clasp is functional.
