Description from the seller

This bas-relief by Augusto Richard.

In 1896 the Ginori ceded the factory to Richard, then the largest ceramic industry in Italy. From the merger the Società Ceramica Richard-Ginori was born, with headquarters in Milan and three production facilities in San Cristoforo (Milan), Pisa, and Doccia. Augusto Richard (1856-1930) continued the industrialization drive initiated by Lorenzo Ginori Lisci and, in a short time, Richard-Ginori achieved total dominance of the national market and a leading position abroad as well. The various plants enabled him to produce all types of ceramics, from the most economical earthenware to artistic maiolicas, up to electrotechnical porcelain.
