A full-size 4/4 violin labeled Stefano Scarampella of Brescia, dated 1905, in very good physical condition and tested and playable, with a maple back and spruce top, ebony setup, chin rest and strings included, overall length 595 mm and back length 359 mm.
Description from the seller
A fine full-size (4/4) violin, labeled: “Stefano Scarampella di Brescia, premiato con medaglie d’argento, fratello ed allievo del Giuseppe, fece in Mantova anno 1905.”
The instrument is in good playing condition and ready to use, with a few small cracks that have been carefully repaired. It comes with a well-preserved ebony setup and an old master bridge stamped “Hammig Oldenburg.”
The violin features a top made from high-quality, fine-grained spruce and a two-piece back of strongly flamed maple, with matching ribs, neck, and scroll. Its rich golden-amber varnish over a lighter ground highlights the beauty of the selected tonewoods.
Measurements: total length 595 mm, back length 359 mm; upper bout 165 mm, middle bout 112 mm, lower bout 209 mm.
The sound is strong, warm, and full-bodied, with depth and sweetness, making it well suited for solo performance.
Worldwide insured shipping via DHL is available.
Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind
