Description from the seller

Vintage bronze/brass monkey candlestick – Bell? Due to hollow interior and pins on the inside.

Handmade (Cire Perdue) – 11.5 cm

Description:
Bring the 'Urban Jungle' or a hefty dose of eclectic mystique into your home with this characterful companion! This seated ape proudly wears a lotus flower on its head that functions as a one-armed candlestick.

The figurine is hand-cast using the traditional 'cire perdue' (lost-wax) technique, which is immediately evident from the fascinating, rough texture on the hollow interior.

Not sleek, soulless factory mass production, but an object with its own face. On the back there is a faint inscription/mark. The deep, dark patina is beautifully accented with authentic greenish oxidation traces in the cup – we deliberately did not polish it, because this character is not for sale!

With a compact height of 11.5 cm, it is the perfect mood-setter for a bookshelf, desk, or dining table. It looks out from its eyes a little mischievously and solemnly promises to keep your candle upright. Who will offer this charming primate a new home?
