Wayang Golek set of two hand-made Indonesian puppets from West Java, Anggada and Sugriwa, in wood and textile with paint, dating to 1990–2000 and measuring 75 cm high by 16 cm wide by 16 cm deep, offered without a stand and in good condition with minor signs of aging and stains.

Wayang Golek – Anggada & Sugriwa (set of 2)
Decorative set of two traditional Wayang Golek puppets from West Java (Indonesia), featuring the characters Anggada and Sugriwa from the Ramayana story. Originating from the collection of House Of Wayang.
Anggada is a brave ape-warrior and son of Subali. He is depicted in traditional iconography with a red face, symbolizing courage, energy and combativeness.
Sugriwa is the monkey king and ally of Rama; he is praised for his wisdom and loyalty.
Both puppets are handcrafted and executed in the distinctive style of the Sundanese Wayang Golek theater. They have an expressive appearance and are richly detailed in color and finish.
An attractive set for collectors of Asian art, puppet theater, but also very suitable as a decorative object in any interior.
