Veduta del Foro Romano is an oil study on canvas by Wilson Robert (signed), from the 1970s, in Realism style, depicting a landscape, with a gilded Baroque frame, measuring 50 x 60 cm on canvas and 68 x 78 cm overall, produced in Italy and in good condition.
Description from the seller
Bright view of the Roman Forum, signed in the bottom right by the artist Wilson Robert.
The work represents a classic architectural "capriccio" from the mid-20th century, executed with an oil technique rich in body and with great luminosity sensitivity.
In the foreground rise the famous three columns of the Temple of the Dioscuri, rendered with decisive brushstrokes that enhance their marble texture. In the background, beyond the Temple of Saturn, the unmistakable profile of the Capitol with the tower of the Palazzo Senatorio is discernible, all immersed in a warm and vibrant atmosphere that recalls the splendors of the Grand Tour.
The work is presented with an important Baroque gilded and decorated wooden frame, which gives the painting a remarkable scenic impact, making it ready to be displayed in a drawing room or in a professional studio.
