An elegant 南部鉄器 Nambu Tekki cast iron decorative bowl crafted in the traditional fan (sensu) motif. This piece exemplifies the renowned ironworking traditions of the Nambu region, known for producing some of Japan's finest cast iron objects since the 17th century. The fan shape symbolizes prosperity and good fortune in Japanese culture, making this an auspicious decorative piece. Originally designed as an ashtray, this unused piece can serve beautifully as a decorative bowl, small container for keys or trinkets, or display piece showcasing traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The rich patina and smooth finish demonstrate the skilled artisanship characteristic of authentic Nambu ironware.
