Description from the seller

Antique salad cutlery set + serving spoon – horn & silvered

Beautiful antique/vintage set consisting of a salad cutlery and a separate serving spoon, made in a combination of dark horn and decorative finishes.

The set exudes classic elegance and has been crafted with great attention to detail.

Salad cutlery (2-piece)
Maten: approx. 28.5 / 29 cm long – 5.5 / 6.5 cm wide – 1.8 cm thick
Consists of a serving fork and a serving spoon. The handles are richly decorated with fine engravings. The ends are made of dark horn with natural color nuances and light flame markings. This type of cutlery was traditionally used because horn is not affected by acids from dressings such as vinegar or lemon.

Handles are not magnetic:
silver or silvered brass
sometimes alpaca / nickel silver

Decorative, functional and a nice addition for a classic or eclectic table setting. Origin: Probably France or Germany Asian horn (late 19th – first half of 20th century)

Condition: good, missing a tip from the fork, otherwise with normal wear appropriate for the age. See the photos to get a good impression.

Separate serving spoon
Size: approx. 23 cm long – 8 x 4.5 cm
Made of black horn (or possibly hard Bakelite). The handle is specially crafted with a graceful dragon-shaped carving. Very suitable as a luxury serving spoon for rice, sauces or side dishes.

Condition: good, with normal signs of wear appropriate for the age.

Total weight together: 130 grams
