Greek Silver Icon - Virgin Mary Hodegetria - .950 Silver - 1970s

950 Silver (Hallmarked) on a wooden/resin base.
The Virgin Mary "Hodegetria" (She who shows the Way) holding the Christ Child.
In good vintage condition. The silver has a beautiful patina. The faces are finely hand painted in the traditional Byzantine style. The icon features a handmade "Riza" (silver cover) made of embossed silver sheet .950, which protects the painting underneath. The back includes a hook for wall hanging.
