Description from the seller
Beautiful Set of Antique & Vintage Interior Attributes in Brass/Bronze - Includes 'Snotnose' Oil Lamp with 2 Snot-Tongs, Key-Hook Rack and Long Shoe Horn (4-piece)
2x Antique 'Snotnose' Oil Lamp (Spout Lamp / Loom Lamp)
Description: An authentic, 19th-century bronze/brass oil lamp in the shape of a teapot, standing on a weighted baluster foot. This type of lamp was once used in the countryside beside the spinning wheel or loom.
Including 'Snotnoses' (Snot-Tongs / Wiekensnijders):
A particularly complete example with two accompanying loose instruments with hooks. These were used to lift the burning cotton wick or to scrape off the charred residues ('snot') for a stable flame.
Classic Key-Hook Rack / Wall Shelf
Description: A decorative wall-mounted coat rack, heavily constructed in cast brass, in the shape of a large, old-fashioned Baroque-style key. Equipped with handy hanging hooks on the key’s beard. Ideal as a key rack or compact hall rack.
Long Vintage Brass Shoehorn
Description: A graceful and functional shoehorn with a long shaft of solid brass. The top of the handle is beautifully decorated with an openwork classic ornament and a hanging eye.
Material: Solid brass (yellow brass) and bronze.
Period: 19th century to mid-20th century.
Origin: Northwest Europe (Netherlands / Belgium).
Condition: In good, original antique condition with a beautifully seasoned, dark patina that emphasizes authenticity. The items show normal, age-related signs of use inherent to their age. Not polished to preserve the authentic character.
