Description from the seller
Scheurich Ceramic Vase – Model 248-38 “Foreign” – West Germany
Beautiful and rare vintage ceramic vase from Scheurich Ceramic, model 248-38, from the early West German period of the late 1950s or early 1960s.
The decoration is often referred to under the label “Foreign” and is characterized by its distinctive speckled surface with fine lines in black, red and yellow. Particularly decorative is the inner glaze in warm mustard yellow, which creates a pleasing contrast with the light outer décor and reflects the characteristic color aesthetics of the 1950s and early 1960s. The harmonious color scheme and clean design give the vase its timeless mid-century charm.
What’s especially interesting is the original model number 248-38 stamped into the base, as well as the imprint W. Germany. The numbers and inscriptions are not printed on, but distinctly felt embossed in the clay.
Condition
• Very good vintage condition
• No cracks or repairs
• Beautiful glaze with age-appropriate patina
• Normal, age-related signs of wear possible
