Bohemia Crystal hand-cut double overlay crystal glass vase in cobalt blue over clear, tapering form with a diamond-cut pattern and starburst base, dating from the 1960s–1970s, 25 cm high, upper diameter 15 cm, base diameter 9 cm, weight 2348 g, in very good condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
Impressive and heavy vase crafted from high-quality double overlay crystal glass using the traditional "Cut to Clear" technique, by Bohemia Crystal and dating from the 1960s–1970s.
A layer of deep cobalt blue crystal was applied over clear crystal and subsequently hand-cut to reveal an intricate diamond pattern and richly executed decorative bands. The refined workmanship creates remarkable depth of colour and an exceptional play of light, characteristic of some of the finest examples of Czech art glass produced during the second half of the twentieth century.
Featuring an elegant tapering form, finely executed diamond-cut decoration, decorative upper frieze and a beautifully cut starburst base, the vase is a fine example of skilled craftsmanship and possesses remarkable decorative qualities.
