About Svnder:
After completing academic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo, Svnder dedicated himself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. His work draws on classical techniques, but is guided by a contemporary sensibility that lends poetic depth to every subject. His works explore the emotional weight of silence, stillness, and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After formal training, he traveled in Europe and the rest of the world, immersing himself in cultures and artistic traditions different to further refine his technique and expand his creative vision. This ongoing path continually enriches his visual language and intensifies its expressive power.
Inspired by the timeless language of the great masters — including Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Vermeer — his gaze merges tradition and modernity in a continuous dialogue between memory, body and symbol.
The subjects of his works range from religious scenes and sacred figures reinterpreted in a contemporary key, to portraits with strong emotional impact, including mythological creatures, fallen angels, saints, martyrs and allegorical figures. References to classical antiquity, Christian symbolism, Greek myth, and pop culture filtered with irony are not lacking. Each composition is built as an image suspended in time, where light and darkness, body and spirit, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and deeply human balance.
“For me, art is a moment of suspension — a space where time stops and emotions find form without the need for words.”
His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
