Elegant Empire/Florentine table lamp, circa 1950–1960, with an opaline red shade and a gilded porcelain body featuring floral enamel motifs, brass patinated fittings, and dimensions 24 cm high by 12 cm wide and 12 cm deep, origin Italy (Florence); original electrical system with grey cable, vintage white switch, and a two‑pin European plug, with a small break at the white thermoset top of the socket not affecting function and a tiny gilding/ceramic edge chip at the base.
Description from the seller
Elegant Empire/Florentine style table lamp, drawing inspiration from the classic form of traditional old petroleum lamps. Made in Italy around the 1960s, this refined light fixture brings a warm ambient glow and a very pronounced vintage touch.
The lamp consists of:
A vivid red opaline lampshade: The opaline glass shows a bright and luminous color.
A body in gilded porcelain with enameled floral decoration: The central part features beautiful cartouches depicting detailed bouquets of flowers enhanced by gold arabesques, in the pure Florentine style.
Brass finishes: The perforated collar and the lampshade support structure are in brass patinated by time.
Technical specifications & condition (to read carefully):
Electrical system: Original with its gray cord, vintage white switch, and European two-pin plug (see photos).
Socket: Designed for a standard screw bulb (E14/E27). Note that a small piece of white thermosetting plastic at the top of the socket is broken (visible in detailed photos); this does not prevent screwing in a bulb or operation but should be noted.
Aesthetic condition: The upper opaline is flawless, with no cracks or chips. The gilded body and the floral decorations are very well preserved. To note: A small gilding/ceramic chip is present on the extreme edge of the base of the pedestal (see macro photo).
