Description from the seller
Splendid Triumph of Fruit and Vegetables in Ceramic - 1960s
Refined sculptural centerpiece in a pyramidal form, superb example of Italian craftsmanship from the Nove and Bassano del Grappa (Veneto) district in the mid-20th century.
The piece rests on a magnificent hand-pierced basket, entirely cut by hand on three rows, enriched with delicate floral motifs applied in relief and finely outlined in cobalt blue on both the base and the upper edge. From the piercedwork one appreciates the extraordinary attention to detail: the inner fruits are molded and finished 360 degrees, visible even from inside the basket.
The composition rises into a pyramid with a rich variety of multicolored fruit and vegetables in extraordinarily vivid and bright colors, characterized by exceptional realism. Among the elements are two apples, one pear, one lemon, one peach, one red pepper, one zucchini, green leaves with veining, and a cluster of violet grapes.
Under the base is the authentic period signature painted by hand in black oxides under glass: an elegant uppercase cursive monogram with the intertwined letters "I" and "C" (or "C" and "T"), accompanied by the catalog code "F / 7" (Forma 7).
The piece stands out for its substantial weight of a robust 2205 grams, a testament to the sturdiness and thickness of the art ceramic of the era.
Conditions: excellent given the object's fragility. It shows no chipping, yarns, or color loss of the enamels. The only very small defect is the absence of a fragment of the stem on the two grapes, imperceptible in the overall view.
A piece of furniture with a strong visual impact, perfect for both classical interiors and to enhance modern interiors with a touch of vintage Italian design.
