Detailed description
Lot consisting of 5 sake bowls commonly referred to as Sakazuki.
The bowls are in excellent condition, only one (the one with flamingo designs) has an edge flaw.
Sakazuki from the Edo period with gold lacquer details. Traditional Japanese designs of flamingos surrounded by vegetation or botanical elements. The elements are relief, lacquered in gold with silver detailing. In some cases the back is also decorated with a naturalistic theme with gold and silver details. The smallest bowl (8.5 x 3 cm) bears the author's signature inside the base in gold lacquer
