Visconti Van Gogh – Wheatfield with Crows fountain pen in resin with gold‑plated trim, M nib, 13.9 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, made in Italy in 2010–2020, in excellent unused condition and in working order, with original presentation.
Description from the seller
A0000003766
The fountain pen is presented in excellent condition, showing a very well cared-for appearance both aesthetically and functionally. The body and cap, made of the characteristic marbled resin of the Visconti Van Gogh collection, retain a deep, uniform shine, clearly appreciating the bluish and greenish tones inspired by Vincent van Gogh's Wheatfield with Clocks. No cracks, deformations, or structural damage are observed in the resin, only light micro-signs of handling typical of minimal use, practically imperceptible to the naked eye.
The metal elements electroplated in gold —clip, central decorative band, and cap details— maintain an excellent aesthetic presence, with a strong and homogeneous gold tone. The engravings on the ring showing “Van Gogh” and on the clip “Visconti” are well defined and crisp. No loss of plating or significant wear is noticeable.
The Visconti medium nib, gold-plated steel and decorated with the signature “Van Gogh,” is in very good condition, clean and properly aligned. The piece has been inspected and tested, ensuring smooth operation and correct ink flow, ready for immediate use.
The diaphragm/international cartridge-converter filling system works correctly. The pen is delivered with its original Visconti presentation, including case, documentation, and the brand’s ink bottle.
Overall, this is a very well-preserved example from the esteemed Visconti Van Gogh collection, ideal for daily writing as well as for collection.
Conservation recommendations
To preserve the correct functioning and aesthetics of the fountain pen, it is recommended to use high-quality inks specifically designed for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks or inks with particles. If the pen is not used for an extended period, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it completely before storing, and keep it in a dry place, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. The closing system and mechanical components should be operated gently at all times to guarantee durability.
Happy bidding!
