I am selling my copy of Adolphe, the famous psychological novel by Benjamin Constant, in its fine illustrated edition from 1913.
This is the edition of the “Petite Bibliothèque Andréa” published by Ferroud, with Serge de Solomko’s color illustrations (Russian Belle Époque artist).
Bibliographic details:
- Limitation: no. 984 (out of 181 to 1000) printed on Arches tinted vellum
- Printed completion on May 15, 1913 by Kauffmann and Co
- Complete with the 12 color illustrations and the ornaments
Binding: half-red morocco with period corners, spine ornamented with small stamps, title in gold “CONSTANT – ADOLPHE – 1913”, marbled endpapers with comb pattern, marbled edges.
Beautiful library copy, not restored, which has kept its freshness. Ideal for the collector of illustrated 1900s literature.
