Montblanc Simplo 2 fountain pen, red resin body with gold‑plated metal components, made in Germany in the mid‑20th century, 12.6 cm long and 1 cm in diameter, in good used condition and fully functional.
Description from the seller
A0000004369
Exemplar in very good overall condition, with an especially attractive presence thanks to its vibrant red resin finish, well preserved and with an even shine that enhances its vintage aesthetics. The body maintains good structural integrity, showing only light surface wear consistent with age, with no cracks or deformations.
The engraving “Montblanc Simplo” remains sharp and legible, with minimal wear that does not compromise readability, adding authenticity and character to the piece. The metal elements, including the gold clip, are solid, with light signs of use and micro-scratches, but maintain a good overall appearance and proper functionality.
The Montblanc star on the cap shows evident signs of aging, with material loss at the top, something common in pieces from this era, which does not affect functionality but is something to consider aesthetically and for collection purposes.
The gold nib is in good condition, with correct geometry and no visible deformations. The feeder fits well and the assembly has been checked, ensuring functional writing. The filling system preserves its original structure, with signs of use in the mechanism area, but operational after inspection.
Overall, an honest piece, with wear appropriate to its age, well structurally preserved and fully functional, ideal for both use and collection.
Conservation recommendations
It is recommended to use high-quality fountain pen inks, avoiding pigmented inks. Clean with lukewarm water if not used for a while, dry before storing, keep in a dry place without direct light or extreme temperatures, and operate the filling system gently.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
Happy bidding!
