Magnificent brooch depicting an elephant, vintage and rare, created by the famous French designer Léa Stein in Bakelite. Brooch signed “LEA STEIN PARIS.” It is in excellent condition despite the years (1968–1980 period). This series was already quite expensive in the 1968–1980 years (information about this brooch can be found in Judith Just’s book Léa Stein Jewelry).

All Léa Stein items are still largely handmade. No two are identical. The brooches are affixed using a heat-setting process, which can sometimes leave unusual marks or scratches on the back or around the fixing area. This is perfectly normal and does not constitute a defect. This brooch is a true collector’s piece, emblematic of the refined style of the late 1960s.
