Description from the seller
AN ANTIQUE HAND-CRAFTED SAXON SPINNING WHEEL, 1900S - UNIQUE FAMILY PIECE
I am selling a unique piece of family history: an antique "Sassone" Saxon single-pedal spinning wheel, entirely handmade in 1900 by the owner’s great-grandfather.
STORY AND AUTHENTICITY:
This spinning wheel is not a mass-produced product. It was built by my great-grandfather over 120 years ago, in an era when stamps or marks did not exist. Every part was turned and assembled by hand with the tools of the time. The signs of wear, the wood patina, and the small beetle holes attest to its age and authenticity.
CHARACTERISTICS:
- Era: around 1900, early 1900s
- Material: solid walnut wood, hand-turned
- Type: Saxon single-pedal spinning wheel with drive and hooks for the thread
- Wheel: 6 spokes hand-turned, sizeable diameter
- Condition: Solid and complete structure. Shows normal wear and patina consistent with 120+ years. No industrial marks present because it is a unique artisanal piece.
- Provenance: Private family collection, always kept within the family
FOR COLLECTORS AND TEXTILE ENTHUSIASTS:
A piece for furnishing and collection for those who love objects with a soul. Perfect for someone who still spins by hand, or as a striking decorative object. A spinning wheel like this, handmade by a family artisan, is rare to find.
I am selling with regret due to lack of space, but happy that it can continue its life in a new home that will appreciate it.
Shipping with professional packaging at the buyer’s expense, or local pickup in my area.
