Beautifully woven fabric. It is half of a horse blanket. From the quality of the wool and the finish, it was surely a prized piece for the wedding at which the bride was brought to the groom's family.
The splendour of the thick braids, which are tied together in pairs, underscores the exceptional nature of the fabric.
All colors are vegetable-dyed.
It can now find a new home as decoration or a lovely little footmat at the bedside.
