Description from the seller
Antique Art Deco / Amsterdam School wooden medicine cabinet with mirrored door – ca. 1920-1930
A characteristic and distinctive antique wall- or hanging cabinet executed in the characteristic Dutch Art Deco / Amsterdam School style from the 1920s / 1930s.
The piece stands out for its expressive, asymmetrical design. On the left side there is a closed cabinet section with a curved mirror door. The right side features an open étagère with shelves, supported by an elegantly turned wooden baluster/pillar. At the bottom there is a double drawer compartment with the original wooden knobs. The cabinet is equipped with the original metal mounting eyes on the back for stable mounting to the wall.
This type of furniture was originally used as a bathroom, shaving, or medicine cabinet and today forms a decorative and functional vintage element in a modern or classical interior.
Condition: General: In good, solid and authentic condition with normal ageing and wear in line with the age.
Surface: The item is in the exact condition in which it was found. It has deliberately not been cleaned or chemically treated, so the original patina and authentic character are fully preserved.
Woodwork: The wood and veneer are structurally sound. No major defects or missing parts. The wood is somewhat dry and can be refreshed with furniture wax or oil at your discretion.
Glass: The mirror glass is intact and shows light, charming signs of age ('weathers' in the glass), which enhances the antique look.
Style: Art Deco / Amsterdam School
Produced in: Netherlands / Europe
Period: About 1920 - 1930
Material: Oak wood / oak veneer, mirror glass, metal
Placement: Wall mounting (hanging)
