Meissen Porcelain Relief Plaques – Complete Set of Four Muses, Limited Club Edition 1981
A rare and highly decorative set of four framed Meissen bisque porcelain relief plaques from the prestigious Meissen Club Edition series, issued as a limited edition in 1981.
The collection depicts four of the classical Greek Muses – Kalliope, Klio, Erato and Thalia – modelled after original designs by the celebrated Meissen master sculptor Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706–1775). Each finely sculpted relief is executed in white unglazed bisque porcelain, highlighting the exceptional detail, depth and elegance for which Meissen is renowned.
The plaques are mounted in their original black wooden frames and bear the Meissen crossed swords mark together with the edition inscriptions on the reverse. Their neoclassical style and high-quality craftsmanship make them ideal for collectors of Meissen porcelain, classical art and refined interior decoration.
