Description from the seller
A jewel of old European porcelain – a magnificent, about 35-centimeter vase from the famous Hungarian Zsolnay manufactory in Pécs. A brand that since the mid-19th century has been renowned for craftsmanship, hand decoration, and its distinctive, elegant styling.
On the base lies the classic green Zsolnay signature with the date “1853” – the factory’s coat of arms and the inscription HAND-PAINTED. Next to it, a handwritten decorator’s signature – probably “Hajdú E.” – and the decoration number 871/11059, typical for their premium catalog class.
This is not ordinary ceramics – it is rare, hand-painted craftsmanship, where every detail matters.
The vase captivates with:
- white, smooth porcelain with a silky sheen,
- a motif of blue flowers with gilded accents, painted with precise, masterful hand,
- a classic, gently flaring shape,
- a wide, elegant lip that beautifully showcases bouquets, yet also makes a statement on its own.
It is an object that looks as if it stood in a room full of wood, lace, and books – an ornament that tells a story by itself.
The Zsolnay vase is not only decoration but also a kind of heritage: porcelain to be passed down, not discarded. Excellent as a solitaire piece, perfect for dry arrangements, and even better as a single, striking accent in an elegant interior.
