The Rothschild Bird series represents one of the most iconic motifs of the Hungarian manufacturer Herend and is characterized by elegant compositions with birds, butterflies and naturalistic motifs rendered with extraordinary pictorial precision.

Each plate features a different scene with colorful pairs of birds depicted among branches and vegetation, accompanied by the service’s typical polychrome butterflies.

Particularly refined is the pierced edge with a “Fish Scale” motif, enhanced by applied gilding and finished by hand.

On the back there is the blue brand of the manufacturer:

HEREND HUNGARY – HANDPAINTED

referencing the RO pattern (Rothschild Bird).
