Wehinger & Co. (Austria) – Grand Royal Vienna-Style Covered Urn – Mythological & Gilded Décor – Porcelain – c. 1905–1918

Magnificent and large covered urn (lidded vase) in fine porcelain, produced in the early 20th century by the Austrian manufactory Wehinger & Co. It fits superbly within the Neoclassical Royal Vienna style.
• Decoration: Stunning central frieze depicting a lively mythological scene (bacchic/dionysian procession with nymphs, satyrs, and musical instruments). The whole is enhanced by a solid Empire green background, enriched with rich Greek geometric friezes (meanders) and delicately gold-dusted floral motifs. The lid is topped with a knop in the shape of a spinning top.
