Description from the seller
Werner Reuber, born in 1947 in Essen and living in Düsseldorf, is regarded among the significant German painters and woodcutters of his generation.
He studied from 1970 to 1976 at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, during which time he was a pupil of Prof. Gerhard Richter – more precisely: Reuber became a Meisterschüler of Richter.
His artistic practice fuses themes of relationship, gender, nature and time with a visible engagement with printmaking techniques – especially woodcut – but also with painting, ceramics and performances with the group Die Langheimer, which he has been running since the early 1980s together with Ulrike Zilly and Robert Hartmann.
