Description from the seller

These 4 Ikhoko pendants were crafted by the Pende people. Most of the Pende masks are carved in the Katundu style, which is the name of the very important chiefdom of this central region. The Ikhoko are the smaller examples of this people’s masks, in wood or bone. They are generally made as a token of thanks, when a person who was ill heals. This Eburnean tradition was only discovered within the Central Pende, specifically where the Mbuya masks of the Katundu style were crafted. The notoriety of the sculptors of the Pende people is due to the Ikhoko.
Height. between 140 and 155 mm.
Good condition, no restorations.

Stands included.

Careful registered shipping.
