Teapot - Copper, Wood - Tsampa box

This is a Tibetan 'tsampa' box made of wood, richly decorated with copper or bronze plates applied in relief. The lid is often inlaid and the box can be used for storing food such as barley flour or as a ritual object.

Such objects commonly originate from the 20th century, but this one is so old and so finely made and of top quality that, in my opinion, this is a much older specimen. Only a single small ornament is missing from the edge of the lid. Furthermore, the object is undamaged.
