Description from the seller

Rare and refined French faience dinner service from the historic Niderviller manufactory, characterized by a delicate hand-painted floral decoration in shades of pink, green and ochre on a pale ivory background.

The service includes a tureen with lid, a large oval serving platter, a round serving plate and a series of coordinated plates, composing an ensemble of great elegance and harmony.

The sober, classical shapes are enhanced by light moldings and a delicate pale pink shaded rim that frames the surfaces. At the center of each piece stands a floral motif made up of blooming roses and small buds, executed with soft, light brushstrokes that recall the French decorative tradition of the 18th century reinterpreted in the Romantic taste of the twentieth century.

Particularly elegant is the tureen, featuring a bulbous body, side handles molded on the sides and a lid topped by an original leaf-shaped knob. The decoration, deliberately essential and well balanced, enhances the quality of the faience and the fineness of the painting execution.

The set expresses Niderviller’s refined, timeless taste, a factory famous for the quality of its ceramics and for its ability to combine tradition, elegance and functionality. Ideal for a formal table or as a prestigious collectible service.

The set is complete for 6 people.

Excellent overall condition, the oval tray has a few chips. Two appetizer plates show chips visible only from the side, not when the plate is on the table.
