This handmade chest features a hinged lid that is adorned with a floral motif on the top and a metal latch.
In the late 19th century these chests were used in India as wedding chests for storing important objects.

Antieke eikenhouten kist voorzien van smeedijzeren sluiting, handvat en hoekaccenten.
Deze handgemaakte kist is voorzien van een scharnierend deksel dat versierd is met een  bloemmotief op de bovenkant en een metalen sluiting .
In de late 19de eeuw werden deze kisten gebruikt in India als trouwkist voor het opbergen van belangrijke voorwerpen .
