Antique octagonal side table from circa 1890–1910, made of solid wood with parquetry veneer inlay, in a late Victorian style.
Description from the seller
Antique octagonal side table with inlaid parquetry top – ca. 1900
Description:
Elegant antique octagonal side table, produced circa 1890–1910, presumably of English origin.
The table features a beautiful geometrically inlaid parquetry/veneer top with a central star motif.
The surrounding richly hand-carved edge with acanthus and scroll motifs gives the piece a characterful appearance. The table rests on four slender, tapered turned legs.
The underside shows a traditional construction with solid wooden battens and metal leg fittings, appropriate to the presumed age.
The piece is in good antique condition with normal signs of use and light patina, suitable for an object over a century old. The top shows a lovely patina and the inlaid veneer remains largely intact.
