Key - Ancient Key XVI

Fascinating and solid ancient wrought-iron key, entirely handmade at the forge by a master blacksmith in Piedmont (Italy) and dating from the 17th century. The object, 15 cm long, features an elegant oval flattened ring handle and a solid, robust, and tactile shaft, typical of Piemonte-era hardware intended for thick interior doors or blanket chests. The motif (design) is characterized by a geometric comb-like pattern, well preserved and defined. The key presents in excellent historical condition, solid and structurally integral. It shows a splendid dark patina original to the period with light and natural signs of surface oxidation, which certify its authenticity and age without compromising the metal’s stability.
