Description from the seller
Magnificent pair of ancient porcelain figurines from German Dresden porcelain (Karl Thieme, Potschappel), rich in detail and with excellent modeling and hand-painted quality. The pieces depict pastoral/country figures in Rococo style.
The Fruit Vendor: Female figure with a yellow hat, salmon/orange bodice and skirt with delicately hand-painted floral patterns, holding a basket with grapes carved in relief.
The Flower Seller: Male figure in a dynamic pose, wearing a red coat and yellow-trimmed trousers, holding a basket full of polychrome flowers handcrafted with incredible delicacy.
Bases: Both figures rest on rocaille-shaped bases gilded in gold, adorned with relief floral and fruit appliqués.
