Description from the seller
Elegant Art Deco porcelain Limoges tea service.
Geometric composition, the different pieces feature an octagonal body with beveled sides, outlined by a wavy blue frieze along the contours. The handles, spouts, and knobs adopt a particularly modern angular architecture, enhanced by hand-applied gold gilding.
The decor consists of a stylized pattern combining blue, green, and gold geometric shapes. Gold highlights on the handles, spouts, lid knobs, and certain decorative elements.
Each piece is marked on the back:
"Limoges A.F. France" (manufacturer)
"Limoges France – Unique" (or "Pièce Unique" depending on the piece)
Distributor's mark "Maire – 63 Rue Saint-Ferréol – Marseille"
Circa 1930, France.
The service includes:
1 teapot with its lid
1 sugar bowl (lid missing)
1 cream jug
8 cups
8 saucers
Overall good condition, the sugar bowl lid is missing, wear from age and use; some wear and losses in the decor and on the gilding. Small signs of antiquity, embedded stains, minor design flaws.
