Period blue cloth binding with Art Deco gold geometric decor.

Contents: Die Mutter, Foma Gordejew, Drei Menschen, Der Spitzel, etc. Complete set in accordance with the table of contents.

Condition: Good condition for 100 years. Solid cloth, clean pages, no missing pages. Period inserts included.

History: Malik-Verlag was the German communist publishing house closed by the Nazis in 1933.

Perfect for collectors of Russian literature, Art Deco, and the history of the Weimar Republic.

From the library of Dr. Adolf Sonnenschein 1862-1939, General Director of the Witkowitz Ironworks. Viennese Jewish industrial family, fled to Switzerland in 1938.

Malik editions were banned by the Nazis as early as 1933. The works of Gorky, Upton Sinclair, and Alexandra Kollontay appeared on the list of "undesirable books".

Books that belonged to a family forced into exile in 1938.
